Each origami piece is hand folded to the miniature size. Then the origami is covered in crazy glue and wax to keep the paper intact. The item is ready to get a mold made out of it for wax injections. After the mold is injected with wax, those pieces get placed onto a wax sprue. The end result looks like a tree of wax. This item is then placed in a flask with the sprue attached to a base. The flask is filled with investment so it will be ready for de-waxing. After de-waxing the flask will be placed in a kiln to get burned out and heated to the correct temperature. When the flask is ready it is removed from the kiln and placed into a vacuum machine. The flask will have a negative space inside where the wax tree was and you can poor in your melted metal. After it cools down you quench the flask and the wax tree that was inside is now a metal tree. The individual origami pieces are snipped off and cleaned up.
